Beat Ball privacy policy
Beat Ball ("the app") is a rhythm game for Android made by Digcy (DIGCY SARL AU, Casablanca, Morocco; "we"). This policy explains what data the app uses and why. Contact: hello@digcy.com.
No account
You don't sign up or log in, and we never ask for your name, email or phone number. Your progress (level, XP, diamonds, best scores and stars, songs and balls you own, and settings such as sound and vibration) is saved on your phone, inside the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes it.
World leaderboard
When you finish a song, the app sends our leaderboard:
- a random player ID and a secret key made on your phone (not linked to your device, your advertising ID or your Google account);
- your nickname (the app makes one up for you, like "Player1234"; you can change it on the leaderboard screen);
- a country code taken from your phone's language and region setting (for example "ma" from "ar-MA"), used to show your flag next to your name;
- the song, your score and your stars.
Your nickname, flag and scores are shown to other players. Don't use your real name as your nickname. This data is stored with our database provider Supabase on servers in the EU (Ireland) and is used only for the leaderboard. It is never sold. To have your entry removed, see delete your data.
Ads (Unity Ads)
The app shows ads through Unity Ads (Unity Technologies): a banner under the game, a full-screen ad between songs now and then, and an optional rewarded video to continue a song. To show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, Unity may collect your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers, your IP address and approximate location, device and app information, how you interact with the app and with ads, and diagnostics such as crash and performance data.
On first launch the app asks whether ads may be personalised. You can change your choice at any time in the game's Settings → Ad choices, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. Buying Remove ads turns off the banner and the between-song ads. Unity's privacy policy: unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy.
Purchases (Google Play)
Diamond packs and Remove ads are bought through Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment; we never see your card or payment details. Google tells the app which items you bought so it can give you your diamonds and restore Remove ads. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Ratings
Now and then the app may show Google Play's own in-app rating card. Google decides whether it appears, and we never learn whether or how you rated.
What we don't do
The app only asks for internet access and vibration (for haptics). It does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for anything other than what's described here.
This website
beatball.digcy.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Our host (Vercel) keeps standard server logs to run the site.
Children
Beat Ball is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has sent us data, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can change ad personalisation in Settings → Ad choices, change your nickname at any time, delete the data on your phone by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage, and ask us to delete your leaderboard entry. See how to delete your data. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access or correct your data; email us and we'll help.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Questions or requests: hello@digcy.com.
